Flight Software Engineer I (New Grad)

Responsibilities
- Assist with design, development, integration, and testing of flight software for spacecraft flight computers.
- Integrate complex GNC algorithms with flight software.
- Define and maintain the Command Telemetry Database for ground, on-orbit testing, and missions.
- Collaborate with the ground C2 software team.
- Support spacecraft command scripting and sequencing.
- Design and implement satellite subsystem model simulators in HITL/SITL environments.
- Develop reusable device drivers, hardware interfaces, and communications protocol libraries for flight hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience with low-level firmware architecture, design, and development.
- Experience with low-level device driver development and safety-critical systems.
- Experience with embedded RTOS platforms such as RTLinux or Azure RTOS.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422, RS485, UDP, and TCP/IP.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, and Zig.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree and 0–2 years of flight software development or production experience for space applications.
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Preferred experience includes embedded Linux, microcontrollers, application processors, revision control systems, debugging instrumentation, and applications in robotics, automation, motor control, or sensor fusion.
