
Sr. Engineer - Cloud SDET - Lightning (Hybrid)

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end validation of Lightning services across cloud-side and Falcon Sensor interactions at component, integration, and application levels.
- Build and maintain Lightning-specific testing tooling and frameworks while contributing to shared testing infrastructure.
- Define and drive functional, performance, contract, and chaos testing strategies.
- Participate in technical design and code reviews, advising on testability, quality, and code hygiene.
- Improve observability and monitoring, perform root cause analysis of production issues, and implement quality improvements to prevent outages.
- Mentor engineers and help drive a quality culture across the team or organization.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of combined experience as an SDET or backend developer.
- Experience building testing frameworks and tooling for cloud SaaS products or comparable service-oriented architectures.
- Experience defining or contributing to testing strategy at team or organizational level.
- Strong debugging skills, including identifying design flaws, race conditions, and performance bottlenecks in complex architectures.
- Expertise in at least one of Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C/C++; Go is the primary language.
- Experience with distributed cloud systems and technologies such as Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with scalability challenges, CI/CD-integrated automated testing, and containerized development and deployment.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Experience building, operating, validating, or scaling low-latency cloud services with gRPC or event-driven messaging is a bonus.
- Experience building and shipping cloud-connected endpoint software, using OCI, or leveraging AI and agentic tools for testing automation is a bonus.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving quality culture across a team or organization.
- Candidates must periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.
