Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, high-performance backend features and core services at global scale.
- Scale systems supporting commerce, payments, issuing platforms, money ledgers, expense management, policy controls, and accounting integrations.
- Own features end to end from design and development through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Address large-scale engineering challenges involving reliability, performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders across global cross-functional teams.
- Promote code quality, documentation, monitoring, testing, scalability, and other engineering best practices.
- Use AI models and AI-assisted development to create intelligent, automated features and improve engineering productivity.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience building and scaling complex systems, with exceptional candidates with less experience considered.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including strong understanding of JVM performance and optimization.
- Experience leveraging AI models and AI-driven development for intelligent features and engineering productivity.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, API design, and AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing or core business products at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver production-quality maintainable code and support features after release through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with global cross-functional partners.
- Commitment to testing, documentation, scalability, code quality, and technically demanding customer-impacting work.
- Fintech or payments-processing experience is preferred.
- Experience with expenses, payments, ERP, tax, or similarly high-stakes, workflow-heavy domains is preferred.
