Responsibilities
- Lead software development as an individual contributor using C or C++.
- Design and review complex software systems, modules, and project architectures.
- Decompose functional requirements into well-defined tasks and implement appropriate algorithmic solutions.
- Provide technical input to project goals, schedules, risks, product plans, and concept documents.
- Conduct peer technical assessments and contribute to process improvements and new procedures.
- Mentor and guide less experienced Software Engineers 1 and 2.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency designing well-architected software systems and modules.
- Demonstrated competence researching fundamental problems and implementing algorithmic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead software engineer on a complex software project.
- Mastered proficiency writing software in C or C, with relevant data structures or object-oriented design experience and/or training.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent academics, generally defined as a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; a GPA of at least 3.5 is desired.
- Ability to prioritize, lead, solve problems, and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
