Responsibilities
- Lead resiliency design reviews and technical initiatives for medium to large-sized products.
- Improve application and platform reliability, stability, scalability, performance, and service levels using data-driven analysis.
- Define service level indicators, service level objectives, and error budgets with stakeholder partners.
- Serve as the main point of contact during major incidents and lead troubleshooting to minimize business impact.
- Use and govern enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for incident triage, troubleshooting, knowledge capture, testing, and operational readiness.
- Identify technology bottlenecks, reduce toil, improve observability, and recommend suitable technologies.
- Provide technical advice, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to engineers across the Athena Core team.
- Provide first-line support for the wider Athena Core team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and applied SRE experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and SRE best practices.
- Understanding of programming languages and platforms such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, and .NET.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define usage guardrails, and align outcomes with resiliency and security expectations.
- Strong understanding of Linux and observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, SLO alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and tooling.
- Proficiency with containers and container orchestration.
- Experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with depth in one or more technical disciplines.
