Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to product development activities including investigation, design, coding, and deliverable reviews.
- Design and develop Layer 2, bridging, Layer 3, routing, IP applications, security, and classifier features for switches and routers.
- Develop switch software capabilities for next-generation Aruba wired networking platforms.
- Contribute throughout the end-to-end switch product development lifecycle.
- Generate ideas for potential product roadmap items.
- Integrate network solutions across software architecture, hardware design, and multiple platforms.
- Troubleshoot operating systems, network stacks, sniffers, switches, and external networks.
Requirements
- BE/BTech with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in enterprise networking products and Layer 2, Layer 3, and security protocols and features.
- Experience designing and developing switch or network-controller firmware.
- Strong operating system experience with Linux, GreenHills, VxWorks, or similar systems.
- Expert knowledge of C and experience integrating networking solutions with hardware designs across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of xSTP, VLAN, LACP, LLDP, TRILL, OSPF, BGP, tunnels, VxLAN, PIM, IGMP, IPv6, RADIUS, TACACS, SSH, access control, ACL, and QoS.
- Experience with network development tools such as sniffers, traffic generators, IXIA, and Spirent.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git or ClearCase.
- Strong network troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience with firmware architecture, ASIC architectures such as Broadcom, platform-dependent and platform-independent networking protocols, Linux device drivers, assembly code, secure software, and agile development.
