Base Salary

$105k - $157k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with architects, security engineers, operations/SRE teams, compliance experts, and business stakeholders to define monitoring and auditing requirements.
  • Implement and refine metrics, logs, alerts, and telemetry to improve visibility, incident detection, response effectiveness, availability, and forensic readiness.
  • Integrate logging and monitoring pipelines with SIEM, EDR, dashboarding, and downstream systems while ensuring data quality and coverage.
  • Tune alert thresholds to reduce noise while maintaining strong security and operational event coverage.
  • Integrate security controls, compliance checks, vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, secret management, and threat detection into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Use generative AI and AI-assisted security tooling to improve investigations, threat detection, automation, and security workflows.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend shifts as business needs require.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to FedRAMP compliance obligations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, monitoring, or related cybersecurity roles.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and SIEM or dashboarding tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Sumo Logic, Grafana, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Splunk, and Thycotic, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of a major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of log handling and telemetry pipelines, including collection, aggregation, downstream integration, and alert configuration and tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Shell, or Go.
  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework or Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain is preferred.
  • Understanding of security and operational challenges in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenStack.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, GSEC, or CISSP are preferred.
  • Familiarity with F5 products and services, including BIG-IP, NGINX, WAF, DDoS, or application security solutions, is a plus.
  • Experience working in a FedRAMP environment is a plus.
