Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software for resource-constrained microprocessor-based systems running embedded Linux.
- Carry software design tasks from concept through implementation and production.
- Document engineering requirements and technical solutions.
- Test firmware and debug and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams on testing and troubleshooting.
- Use AI and agentic coding tools to accelerate software development while applying engineering judgment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with software design, development, debugging, software development lifecycle practices, version control, and bug tracking.
- Experience with unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Embedded Linux software development experience.
- Strong understanding of C/C++ programming, operating systems, real-time control, multithreading, inter-process communication, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby, Lua, or Python.
- Familiarity with GCC, GDB, GNU Make, and cross-compilation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience with AI and agentic coding tools, ARM-based microcontrollers, Git, Jira, Confluence, Zigbee, Bluetooth, BLE, WiFi, powerline carrier communications, and solar, energy storage, or microgrid products.
