Responsibilities
- Lead systems and storage performance engineering at staff or principal level.
- Profile and tune Linux storage I/O paths and kernel modules.
- Benchmark distributed storage at scale using fio and file-system tools.
- Optimize NVMe/NVMe-oF, block-device internals, erasure coding, RAID data paths, RDMA, TCP offload, and NUMA-aware systems.
- Use C, Python, perf, ftrace, eBPF, and flamegraphs for performance analysis.
- Add build gating and smoke-test stages to prevent broken builds from reaching QE.
Requirements
- 12+ years of systems or storage performance engineering experience at staff or principal level.
- Deep experience with Linux storage I/O paths and kernel module profiling and tuning.
- Experience with distributed storage benchmarking at scale.
- Strong knowledge of NVMe/NVMe-oF, block-device internals, erasure coding, RAID data paths, RDMA, TCP offload, and NUMA-aware tuning.
- Proficiency in C, Python, and Linux performance tooling.
- Preferred experience with Lustre performance, including LNet, OSTs/MDTs, obdfilter-survey, and client fio.
- Preferred experience with software-defined NVMe-oF, distributed block storage internals, cloud bare-metal platforms, dense NVMe platforms, OFED/MOFED/DOCA driver evaluation, and ConnectX-class NIC tuning.
