Responsibilities
- Develop operating state machines, mode management, and supervisory coordination across controllers.
- Implement high-voltage sequencing, contactor control and diagnostics, interlock handling, and precharge verification.
- Develop battery protection strategies, current and power limit arbitration, cell balancing logic, thermal management controls, and diagnostic behavior.
- Aggregate system states, propagate and announce faults, and manage calibration parameters and estimation-model integration.
- Develop model-based application software and handwritten C, with requirements traceability and design documentation.
- Support safety and security analyses, validation debugging, root cause analysis, and field issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Controls, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience developing embedded application or control software for electronic control units.
- Proficiency with model-based development and production code generation, plus working C ability.
- Production-program experience designing state machines, sequencing, and diagnostic strategies.
- Experience with requirements-driven development, traceability, unit testing, and code reviews.
- Ability to debug control behavior directly on hardware, benches, and instrumentation.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master's degree, battery management and high-voltage system experience, functional safety development, calibration and parameter management, distributed-controller coordination, and thermal management control strategy experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, occasional travel availability, and legal authorization to work in the United States are required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
