Base Salary
$140k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and scale backend software in Java and Kotlin for patch discovery, packaging, and deployment.
- Build enterprise-scale applications serving millions of managed endpoints.
- Apply design patterns, object-oriented design, API best practices, and scalable data structures.
- Develop REST services, relational database solutions, caching systems, and responsive client/server messaging.
- Commit production code and collaborate with AI workflow, server, platform, product design, and product teams.
- Occasionally contribute to React or Angular UI components for patching workflows and dashboards.
- Maintain quality-first development and apply expert software testing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Java software development for product applications, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience working with highly scalable software systems.
- Experience designing and scaling systems and solving scalability challenges.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles, scalable data structures, API best practices, and REST service development.
- Experience with frameworks such as Jersey or Spring and with relational database design and development.
- Experience with client- and server-side development for responsive messaging.
- Expertise in caching systems; Redis experience is advantageous.
- Expert knowledge of quality testing practices.
- React and/or Angular experience is preferred for occasional front-end work.
