Responsibilities
- Create and maintain data pipelines integrating European power-market data from exchanges, TSOs, and other market sources.
- Build market connectors, trading workflows, and scheduling tools for energy trading operations.
- Translate trading models and ideas into stable production systems for day-ahead, intraday, and imbalance markets.
- Design reliable, fault-tolerant systems with clean architecture and robust data handling.
- Prepare systems for REMIT standards and future MiFID compliance.
- Help establish engineering best practices, observability, and deployment standards across trading and data systems.
- Own production systems end to end and contribute to the direction of a newly formed engineering team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of senior engineering experience building and owning production systems end to end.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and backend systems.
- Ability to identify failure points and make pragmatic design trade-offs for scale and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in greenfield environments while maintaining speed and quality.
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and willingness to challenge assumptions constructively.
- Experience with energy or commodity trading, market connectivity, scheduling, EEX, EPEX, Nord Pool, or TSO data is preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of algorithmic coding, technical screening, live coding, and system design interviews.
