Responsibilities
- Scale and maintain RDBMS platforms including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon Aurora, along with NoSQL systems including Cassandra and MongoDB.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code automation and tooling for database deployments.
- Manage database backups, restores, replication, and high-availability configurations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance in production and non-production environments.
- Implement database schema changes with senior engineers and product teams.
- Protect data resources and monitor replication while applying established security standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing or supporting cloud-based database systems on AWS or GCP.
- Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL, plus experience with MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Experience using or modifying Terraform or Ansible automation.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash for administrative automation.
- Understanding of database backups, replication, and high-availability concepts.
- Solid SQL skills for troubleshooting and tuning basic query performance issues.
- Exposure to distributed systems or horizontal scaling concepts such as sharding or read replicas is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
