Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of real-time ads auction systems.
- Own and enhance core auction capabilities including bid evaluation and pricing.
- Build low-latency, highly reliable distributed services at massive scale.
- Design auction logic balancing viewer experience with advertiser performance.
- Develop and optimize SSP-side auction mechanisms integrating with multiple DSPs.
- Partner with product managers and data science teams to translate goals into solutions.
- Drive yield optimization through auction design and pricing experiments.
- Lead experimentation using A/B testing and auction simulations.
- Ensure auction correctness and compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Influence the long-term technical roadmap for Roku Ads.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- 5+ years working with cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
- Deep experience in building microservices using Java for container platforms.
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud services.
- Experience with protocols and data formats such as REST and JSON.
- Demonstrated ability to drive consensus in design with senior team members.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
