Base Salary
$175k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for LangSmith's workflows.
- Collaborate on architectural decisions for system performance and maintainability.
- Optimize storage and query performance for observability and evaluation data.
- Ensure system reliability through testing, monitoring, and alerting practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with root-cause analysis.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for system design and APIs.
- Work closely with full-stack engineers, product managers, and designers on new features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend engineering on complex products.
- Proficiency in backend languages/frameworks, ideally Python or Go.
- Strong understanding of API design and reliable data services.
- Experience with high-throughput or mission-critical systems.
- Ability to optimize backend services for performance and reliability.
- Experience with database systems like Postgres, Redis, Clickhouse, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer centricity and ownership mentality.
