Responsibilities
- Develop vertically integrated C++ software systems for on-vehicle firmware and off-vehicle simulation and tooling.
- Contribute to compute-platform bring-up, validation, debugging, peripheral drivers, and hardware-software interfaces for new vehicle platforms.
- Write unit tests and Software-in-the-Loop simulation fixtures for edge-case handling, system robustness, and fault containment.
- Analyze field data logs, vehicle telemetry, and simulation results to identify root causes and improve firmware performance.
- Participate in engineering workflows, design discussions, and code reviews with embedded and systems engineers.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a BS or MS program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Have a strong programming foundation in C or C++ and understand data structures, pointers, and memory management.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and debugging ability, curiosity, continuous learning, and comfort working with evolving platforms or prototypes.
- Be familiar with Linux development environments, command-line tools, and version control systems such as Git.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded or real-time programming experience with microcontrollers, bare-metal environments, or RTOS.
- Preferred qualifications include board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and lab instrumentation experience.
- Preferred qualifications include C++ unit testing with Google Test, Python for automation or analysis, and participation in engineering teams or open-source projects.
