Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using pushdown principles and efficient data access patterns.
- Build CDS-based enterprise data models with associations, annotations, semantics, and authorization concepts.
- Implement performance-critical logic with AMDP and SQLScript.
- Develop modular, testable ABAP code, OData services, and stable APIs using clean design practices.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM integration, tool calling, retrieval grounding, prompts, context assembly, and safety boundaries.
- Create automated ABAP and AI evaluation tests, including unit, integration, contract, regression, and scenario-based testing.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, confirmations, and audit logs.
- Add logging, metrics, traces, error handling, retries, idempotency, correlation IDs, and operational diagnostics.
- Integrate SAP services with SAP and non-SAP systems, cloud runtimes, APIs, and enterprise integration platforms.
- Support incident response and evolve prototypes into secure, compliant, production-grade solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP Development for HANA, including performance tuning and pushdown design.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling, including associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for controlled code pushdown.
- Strong software engineering discipline, including clean design, testing, and production readiness.
- Capability to build LLM integrations, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and AI safety boundaries.
- Experience with OData or service design, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is beneficial.
- Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance is beneficial.
