Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend features using Java and Node.js.
- Participate in software architecture and system design discussions.
- Conduct software analysis, development, testing, and debugging.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issues.
- Provide technical recommendations across supported technologies and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of backend software engineering experience with a strong focus on Java.
- Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, and RDS.
- Hands-on experience with Redis and GraphQL API integration.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized development workflows.
- Strong Java and Node.js backend development skills, including Java concurrency and multithreading.
- Knowledge of Spring Framework, Hibernate, SQL, NoSQL databases, microservices architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, communicate effectively, adapt to established engineering standards, and respond to feedback.
- Experience with video streaming technologies is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset; English is required to support and service out-of-province clients.
