Responsibilities
- Gather stakeholder requirements and understand data ecosystem, security, privacy, and retention needs.
- Interpret technical requirements, execute component designs, and document module, system, architecture, tool, and storage needs.
- Implement code across assigned components while following coding, security, and design standards.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, security scans, and testing in shared environments.
- Develop tools and automation for transforming, managing, accessing, deploying, and monitoring batch and real-time data processes.
- Extract, compile, orchestrate, and transform raw data for downstream sources.
- Review and escalate data pipeline alerts, investigate causes, and implement basic solutions to reduce failures.
- Troubleshoot basic data engineering anomalies and escalate complex platform issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience gathering requirements for data engineering projects through stakeholder meetings.
- Experience interpreting technical requirements and executing component designs under guidance.
- Experience implementing code according to coding standards and security requirements.
- Experience participating in code reviews and applying feedback to improve code quality.
- Experience conducting unit testing and supporting testing in shared environments.
- Experience developing tools and automation for data transformation and management.
- Experience extracting, compiling, and transforming raw data.
- Experience reviewing and escalating data pipeline alerts and troubleshooting basic issues.
- Preferred: 2 or more years of work experience, orchestration experience, data modification and transformation experience, pipeline alert investigation, and troubleshooting testing anomalies.
