Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy data tables, views, and marts across data warehouses, operational data stores, data lakes, and data virtualization environments.
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, transformation, integration, and flow, including potential web-scraping work.
- Build, launch, and maintain reliable large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines using data processing frameworks.
- Integrate data silos in scalable and compliant ways while managing data quality and lifecycle requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, data architects, business analysts, frontend developers, designers, and data analysts on scalable data-driven products.
- Develop backend APIs and work with databases to support applications.
- Work with developers through pair programming and code reviews in a continuous integration and delivery environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in data cleaning and transformation using technologies such as SQL, pandas, or R.
- Proficiency building ETL pipelines with tools and services including SQL Server Integration Services, AWS Database Migration Service, Python, AWS Lambda, ECS container tasks, EventBridge, AWS Glue, and Spring.
- Proficiency in database design and databases including PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, Athena, MongoDB, PostGIS, MySQL, SQLite, VoltDB, and Cassandra.
- Proficiency with Databricks and Microsoft Data Fabric.
- Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines and ETL/ELT data integrations in big-data and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with data modeling, data access, and data storage infrastructure such as data marts, data lakes, data virtualization, and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with web requests and protocols, big-data frameworks, web scraping, data governance, access control, and security best practices.
- Comfort working with at least one scripting language and in Windows and Linux development environments.
- Interest in bridging engineering and analytics.
