Responsibilities
- Provide software engineering advisory, planning, integration, and architecture support for Navy education and training systems.
- Maintain, enhance, and develop software using AWS technologies, PL/SQL, Java, Visual Studio/C#, JavaScript, and Oracle databases.
- Fix bugs, modernize legacy code, and develop new software features.
- Create and maintain unit tests and perform integration testing across development, staging, and production environments.
- Support production deployments, release planning, release documentation, and release scripting.
- Create and maintain database objects, including tables, views, triggers, functions, procedures, and packages.
- Maintain SQL Server databases used by the application.
- Implement STIGs, maintain ATO artifacts, support application security testing, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
- Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers for compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an approved field such as computer science, software engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, mathematics, or a related listed discipline.
- Hands-on software development experience with Visual Studio/C# and JavaScript/jQuery, Java, or PL/SQL.
- Cloud-based development experience, preferably with AWS GovCloud.
- Proficiency in SQL and code versioning tools such as Git.
- Secret security clearance required; the requirement may be waived to an Interim Secret for strong candidates.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is desired.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, software development life cycles, automation toolchains, CI/CD pipelines, and container images is desired.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, plus strong written and verbal communication skills, is desired.
