Base Salary
$105k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, enhance, and sustain mission-focused software applications and backend services.
- Build and maintain APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical capabilities.
- Support data scientists and mission partners by refining custom applications and delivering operational software capabilities.
- Troubleshoot defects, improve application performance, and maintain existing systems.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and reliable delivery in a remote-first environment.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field, with four additional years of experience accepted in place of the degree.
- At least 4 years of professional experience with programming, design, and/or development is required.
- Professional experience with a strongly typed programming language such as Java or Rust and a scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript is required.
- Working knowledge of software development practices and tools including Jira, Confluence, and Git is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Java and Rust backend development, streaming or event-driven processing with Apache Flink or Apache Kafka, and full-stack development with React, Next, Leaflet, MapLibre, or Redux.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harness, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, PostgreSQL, or Apache Iceberg.
- Strong verbal, written, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills are preferred.
- Candidates must be comfortable communicating via video calls and working remotely or from a nearby Vantor facility.
