Base Salary
$138k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and deploy customer-facing web applications.
- Create testing artifacts and developer tooling to support product success.
- Build and maintain medium- to large-scale, mission-critical, high-availability production systems.
- Monitor code health, infrastructure health, and application performance.
- Communicate technical reasoning and decisions through design diagrams and review meetings.
- Mentor peers and provide technical guidance across the application technology stack.
- Evaluate and learn newer technologies and concepts related to engineering best practices and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on application development.
- 10+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and React, Vue, or Angular.
- Working knowledge of Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Expert-level experience with Fastly, AWS, Serverless/SAM, CloudFormation, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
- Hands-on familiarity with both client- and server-side technologies, plus a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience building medium- to large-scale mission-critical, high-availability production systems.
- Demonstrable design skills and the ability to clearly explain difficult technical concepts.
- Experience with monitoring code health, infrastructure health, and application performance.
- Preferred experience in e-commerce, affiliate platforms, or consumer media.
- Preferred experience with Kanban/Scrum teams, Agile practices, continuous deployment, and incremental delivery.
- Preferred system engineering knowledge including database design, application architecture, operating systems, and networking.
- Experience with interviewing and talent acquisition is a plus.
- Experience with non-procedural programming, functional-style concepts, or object-oriented JavaScript is a plus.
