Base Salary

$405k - $485k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement access-control, permission-management, audit-logging, and compliance infrastructure for sensitive data.
  • Build and maintain financial data pipelines and warehouses for revenue, usage, business metrics, and reporting.
  • Manage external relationships and upstream dependencies for third-party revenue ingestion pipelines.
  • Architect disaster recovery, backup, replication, availability, and durability systems for petabyte-scale cloud data.
  • Scale data processing infrastructure and enable self-service analytics using BigQuery, BigTable, Airflow, dbt, and Spark.
  • Optimize query performance, manage infrastructure costs, and improve data reliability and availability.
  • Set technical direction and navigate tradeoffs involving performance, cost, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, and technical and non-technical partners.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops, building data infrastructure, storage systems, or related distributed systems.
  • 3+ years leading large-scale, complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead.
  • Ability to set technical direction for a team rather than only execute within an established direction.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or a similar programming language.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Pulumi and cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Experience balancing performance, cost, security, and maintainability in complex technical systems.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Preferred experience with security and compliance requirements including ITGC, GDPR, and financial controls.
  • Preferred background in data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, analytics infrastructure, Kubernetes, containerization, cloud-native architectures, column-oriented databases, OLAP systems, or big data processing frameworks.
  • Preferred experience in fintech, financial services, regulated environments, data protection, or access-control security engineering.

  • Annual salary range of $405,000–$485,000 USD.
