Base Salary
$175k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain all internal GenAI and AI-powered applications across the company.
- Evaluate, onboard, and integrate third-party AI APIs and open-source models into internal tools.
- Design and build scalable front-end interfaces, backend APIs, microservices, data pipelines, RAG pipelines, and vector database integrations.
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure for reliable and cost-effective GenAI application hosting.
- Define and enforce SSDLC, security, privacy, AI governance, coding, API usage, prompt, and data-handling standards.
- Implement authentication, authorization, data privacy, CI/CD security gates, automated testing, deployment guardrails, and vulnerability remediation.
- Identify risks including prompt injection, data leakage, model misuse, data exfiltration, model inversion, and jailbreaks.
- Review employee-built AI applications before production deployment and monitor usage, performance, token consumption, and API costs.
- Maintain an application registry and AI risk register, conduct security audits, and report application performance and costs to leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and deliver AI-powered tools addressing business needs.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of full-stack software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working directly with AI/ML APIs or LLM-based applications in production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of multiple software projects from architecture through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Python, and/or Node.js, with experience using modern backend frameworks.
- Experience integrating OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector and RAG architecture patterns.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including Docker, Kubernetes, serverless functions, managed databases, and IAM/secrets management.
- Strong understanding of SSDLC, threat modeling, OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST tooling, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
- Familiarity with AI-specific security risks and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
- Preferred qualifications include security certifications such as CSSLP, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Security Specialty.
- Preferred experience includes internal developer platforms, enterprise AI hubs, robotics, IoT, physical security technology, AI governance frameworks, responsible AI, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
