Responsibilities
- Design and develop lightweight security sensors and agents running inside customer environments.
- Build asset discovery, network scanning, vulnerability detection, and exposure validation capabilities.
- Develop reliable long-running system software focused on performance, resource usage, concurrency, and stability.
- Work with Windows and Linux internals, processes, sockets, filesystems, networking, and system APIs.
- Build secure communication between distributed sensors and the SAFE cloud, including authentication, encryption, retries, and offline recovery.
- Implement sensor installation, configuration, health monitoring, lifecycle management, and software or rule updates.
- Debug issues across application code, operating systems, customer networks, proxies, firewalls, and infrastructure.
- Build diagnostics, telemetry, and logging for investigating issues without direct access to customer systems.
- Participate in design discussions and independently own components and features through production.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of software development experience, preferably building systems, infrastructure, or security products.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of C++, Go, or Python.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and operating-system fundamentals.
- Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, sockets, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, proxies, routing, NAT, firewalls, and network segmentation.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and inter-process communication.
- Understanding of software security and secure communication practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently across code, operating-system, and network boundaries.
- Preferred experience with endpoint agents, sensors, collectors, daemons, or system services.
- Preferred experience with cybersecurity, endpoint security, vulnerability management, micro-segmentation, EDR, or network security products.
- Preferred familiarity with CVE, CVSS, vulnerability scanners, exposure management, secure auto-update mechanisms, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience developing software for large heterogeneous enterprise environments across Windows and Linux.
