Base Salary
$147k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and ship end-to-end features spanning interfaces, services, and data.
- Build and improve a high-traffic, low-latency API gateway.
- Create fast tables, charts, filters, and forms for usage, billing, and team data.
- Shape the self-serve customer journey from signup through activation.
- Build and operate identity and team access using OAuth, OIDC, role-based access, SAML SSO, and SCIM.
- Manage feature flags, staged rollouts, and post-rollout entitlements.
- Improve SDKs, CLI tools, MCP servers, and documentation used by developers and AI agents.
- Work with product, design, and engineering teams while operating production systems under real traffic.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience on customer-facing products or high-throughput APIs.
- Strong backend engineering skills, ideally with Python; Go, C++, or C with some Python experience are also considered.
- Experience building and operating latency-sensitive, high-QPS APIs with caching, asynchronous work, queues, retries, rate limiting, long-running jobs, and webhooks.
- Experience shipping production user interfaces with modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, or TanStack, ideally using TypeScript.
- Experience building performant data-heavy interfaces such as tables, charts, and filters.
- Ability to ramp up in complex codebases, ship safely under real traffic, and participate in on-call operations.
- Strong product and design judgment for both interfaces and APIs.
- Ability to own work from design through production, communicate trade-offs, navigate ambiguity, and use AI tools in development.
- Experience leading a project or mentoring others is a plus.
- Experience taking a product from inception to launch is a plus.
- Experience building API-key issuance and lifecycle management is a plus.
- Experience building MCP servers or tools for AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with billing or usage metering systems such as Stripe, Metronome, or Orb is a plus.
