Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and ensure development of scalable, fault-tolerant Eats Engineering systems.
- Develop technical strategy, architecture plans, and roadmaps with senior leadership and product owners.
- Drive mission-critical projects across stakeholders and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable, highly available products and services while simplifying system architecture.
- Investigate and resolve critical system issues and proactively develop mitigation plans.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop senior engineers and high-performing teams.
- Define, measure, and report system and operational metrics.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience building B2C-scale products, preferably using Java and AWS.
- 7+ years of experience in technical leadership, including organization- or business-unit-level technical vision and execution.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and delivering scalable and highly available products and services.
- Strong expertise in Java development, system and data architecture, distributed computing and storage, messaging services, caching, and performance tuning.
- Experience collaborating across globally distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: ecommerce or food delivery product development experience, ML platform and MLOps experience, and prompt engineering or agent framework experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
