Responsibilities
- Implement 3GPP 4G/5G physical-layer protocols and control/data path processing algorithms for specialized cellular ASIC hardware.
- Develop processing for channels and procedures such as PDCCH, PDSCH, PBCH, PUCCH, PUSCH, PRACH, HARQ, and tracking loops.
- Design and implement algorithms for channel estimation, channel state feedback, interference cancellation, cell search and measurement, and beam measurement.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to optimize signal-processing algorithms for firmware and hardware execution.
- Work with silicon designers to define hardware interfaces, processors, buses, DMA, accelerators, and memory subsystems.
- Specify, design, and implement firmware architecture for mobile wireless communications systems.
- Develop and use pre-silicon emulation systems and virtual platforms for firmware design and hardware verification.
- Evaluate tools for builds, formal verification, and testing, and define engineering methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience with hardware control for 4G/5G physical-layer data-path processing.
- Understanding of 4G and 5G 3GPP protocols.
- Experience implementing digital signal-processing algorithms using specialized DSP hardware.
- Strong understanding of linear algebra, digital signal-processing principles, software engineering, and computer science fundamentals.
- Facility with C and C++, compilers, build tools, and source-control tools.
- Significant experience with memory-constrained real-time operating systems and concurrent programming.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture and hardware/software interfaces for high-speed communication subsystems.
- Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms.
- Proficiency debugging embedded software systems, with familiarity with UARTs, JTAG, and oscilloscopes.
- Some mainstream operating-system application development and Python or Perl scripting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, computer engineering, or computer science.
