Responsibilities
- Embed with commercial teams to understand workflows, constraints, and objectives and identify high-value AI opportunities.
- Translate business problems into technical requirements, solution designs, and delivery plans for agentic solutions.
- Build, integrate, deploy, and extend the internal GenAI platform, including integrations, data connectors, MCP servers, tool-calling, and domain-specific skills.
- Apply AI and modelling techniques to commodity pricing, supply and demand signals, trade flow analysis, and operational optimization.
- Communicate requirements, constraints, and reusable patterns to foundational AI and platform engineering teams.
- Present AI capabilities, assumptions, and limitations to traders and senior management.
- Participate in code reviews, experiment and evaluation design, tooling decisions, and mentoring.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, data science, or a related hands-on technical role.
- Fluency in Python for applied AI and engineering, including clean, modular, documented code and software engineering best practices.
- Practical understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agentic workflows, model evaluation, and responsible AI.
- Proficiency with modern GenAI orchestration and tooling frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with technical teams and commercial stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity about emerging AI developments and willingness to develop expertise in commodities markets, global energy flows, and trading dynamics.
