Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain Linux-based systems and embedded Rust agents for the ControlOne Bridge product.
- Design secure, high-performance network configurations and protocols for SOHO router/firewall appliances.
- Manage and troubleshoot Linux servers at scale in customer and private cloud environments.
- Analyze and optimize Linux frame and packet routing decisions and overall network performance.
- Implement observability stacks covering metrics, logs, events, and traces for distributed environments.
- Debug complex production issues through Rust stack-trace analysis, core dumps, log correlation, and network packet analysis.
- Collaborate on full-stack features and maintain API contracts for the ControlOne platform.
- Embed security and compliance best practices throughout the software and appliance lifecycle.
- Automate build, deployment, and monitoring workflows using CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and embedded-development tooling.
- Document Linux server management and networking practices and contribute to operational excellence.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Python for backend programming and Rust for embedded agent development.
- Expertise in Linux server administration and management at scale.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing protocols, firewalls, load balancing, and network security.
- Strong knowledge of the Linux network stack and experience with embedded systems development and firmware updates.
- Expertise with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, and Loki.
- Experience with eBPF, profilers, distributed tracing tools, tcpdump, iptables, nftables, and iproute2.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment patterns for Linux-based systems.
- Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Argo, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document and explain technical concepts clearly.
