Base Salary

$183k - $223k/yr

Responsibilities

Lead team-scoped initiatives from problem definition and technical design through implementation, rollout, and production operation.
Build and operate dependable backend services, APIs, and data models while balancing correctness, reliability, performance, cost, and maintainability.
Partner with Product, Operations, and data or ML engineers to define requirements and measurable outcomes.
Use approved AI-assisted development tools for development, testing, debugging, and documentation while validating changes and protecting confidential information.
Improve automated testing, observability, release safety, and incident prevention, and participate in production support.
Lead design discussions, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and document technical decisions.
Break ambiguous work into milestones, coordinate dependencies, and communicate risks and scope changes.
Identify and evaluate automation opportunities using conventional software and AI approaches.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Five or more years of software engineering experience, including delivering and operating backend software in production.
Strong programming skills in C#, Java, Go, or a comparable backend language.
Experience with systems design, APIs, relational data modeling, and diagnosing failures across services.
Ability to lead technical projects, make practical trade-offs, and collaborate with engineering and business partners.
Ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools effectively and critically through professional work, independent projects, or a practical exercise.
Preferred: experience with logistics, transportation, marketplaces, or operationally complex enterprise products.
Preferred: production experience with AI engineering, Agentic RAG, RAG, Knowledge Graphs, and integrating AI or ML capabilities into production workflows.
Preferred: experience with evaluation, monitoring, cost/performance management, human oversight, engineering-practice improvements, operational-work reduction, or mentoring other engineers.

Full-time hybrid work arrangement.
