Responsibilities
- Build and maintain distributed database features supporting high availability, distributed consistency, horizontal scalability, and deployment flexibility.
- Work across the database stack, including low-level I/O systems and distributed control planes.
- Develop features end to end and run and maintain them in the Neo4j Aura managed service.
- Collaborate with support engineers, SREs, product managers, and other teams to diagnose bugs and design features.
- Learn, experiment, and contribute to the growth of the team and product.
Requirements
- Work independently in a flexible software development organization and communicate and collaborate on complex technical topics.
- Experience with distributed systems through usage, administration, or development.
- Interest in learning modern, high-performance Java programming and Kubernetes operator development.
- Experience building stateful distributed systems such as databases, message brokers, or stream processing systems is a plus.
- Experience with distributed orchestration systems, Java or the JVM ecosystem, and large codebases is a plus.
- Ability and desire to work as part of a geographically distributed team.
