Base Salary
$185k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain connectors in Open Source Trino, Starburst Enterprise Platform, and Starburst Galaxy.
- Develop innovative ways to accelerate complex queries without sacrificing result correctness.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams in a focused, fast-paced environment.
- Participate in coding, pull-request reviews, and design documentation.
- Provide exceptional support to internal and external customers using the query engine.
Requirements
- Prior experience developing distributed systems.
- Extensive software development experience with Java.
- Demonstrated experience with software engineering and design best practices.
- Ability to create maintainable, performant, high-quality software in a globally distributed engineering team.
- Significant autonomy and ownership, with strong software engineering craftsmanship.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly in writing through Slack, GitHub pull requests, and design documents.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% for onboarding, offsites, customer engagements, and company events.
- Experience with query engines, storage and compute separation, data engineering, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hive table format synchronization, or large-scale open-source software is a plus.
