Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Determine user requirements with stakeholders and identify dependencies for product, application, service, and platform designs.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment.
  • Drive project plans, release plans, and work items with stakeholders and project managers.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, participate in on-call monitoring, communicate service status, and initiate restoration actions for service issues.
  • Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring consistency, and operations at scale.
  • Guide other engineers and develop and follow operational playbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: master’s degree plus 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Benefits

  • Partial or full remote work flexibility.
  • The typical U.S. base pay range is $119,800-$234,700 per year; a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range is $160,200-$261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
