Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components for real-world business problems.
- Make ML infrastructure decisions involving model selection, data, feature selection, training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality, bias/variance, and validation.
- Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployments.
- Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams in a cross-functional Agile environment.
- Retrain, maintain, and monitor machine learning models in production.
- Build or leverage cloud architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
- Construct data pipelines to feed, train, and evaluate ML models.
- Apply continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, monitoring, model governance, and responsible and explainable AI practices.
- Use Python, Scala, or Java and operate distributed systems and cloud-based containerized ML services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Java, Golang, or C++.
- At least 4 years of machine learning experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow and libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- At least 4 years of experience using and operating large-scale distributed systems such as Spark or Ray for AI or machine learning data.
- At least 2 years of experience deploying and operating ML solutions in production, operating production cloud services using AWS, GCP, or Azure, and using Kubernetes for containerized ML systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's or doctoral degree, 3+ years optimizing ML algorithms and infrastructure, and 3+ years applying software development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident-response practices.
- Preferred experience includes advanced ML techniques and architectures, production-ready data pipelines, and at least 1 year as a technical lead developing ML solutions.
- Authored or co-authored a paper on an ML technique, model, or proof of concept.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location; listed ranges include $197,300-$225,100 in Cambridge or McLean and $179,400-$204,700 in Richmond.
