Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software development and test tools.
  • Build tools for chip, SoC, and board bring-up, firmware and driver development, and RTOS- and Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Develop flashing, provisioning, configuration, calibration, recovery, debugging, tracing, diagnostics, logging, metrics, and crash-analysis tools.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, hardware-in-the-loop, system-level, factory, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Create simulation, emulation, and test harnesses that support faster iteration without physical hardware.
  • Integrate toolchains across MCUs, CPUs, DSPs, NPUs, GPUs, and custom ASICs.
  • Design developer- and operator-facing tools that are reliable, scalable, secure, usable, and maintainable.
  • Collaborate with firmware, driver, hardware, test, manufacturing, and systems teams to define requirements and interfaces.
  • Support production, manufacturing, and field-debug workflows through tooling and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation including tool guides, onboarding materials, factory procedures, and troubleshooting manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience developing software tools for embedded or systems environments.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, C and/or C++, and shell scripting such as Bash.
  • Understanding of embedded fundamentals including boot flows, memory, interrupts, concurrency, and RTOS- and Linux-based systems.
  • Experience with embedded build systems, cross-compilation toolchains, and flashing workflows.
  • Familiarity with firmware and driver development and bring-up processes.
  • Experience designing developer- and operator-facing tools focused on usability, reliability, and automation.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills across hardware and software.
  • Preferred experience with Yocto, Buildroot, RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, QNX, or ThreadX, and hardware debug tools including OpenOCD, GDB, Trace32, and Lauterbach.
  • Preferred experience building HIL, SIL, automated factory-test, emulation, simulation, and embedded CI/CD frameworks.
  • Preferred experience with QEMU, virtual platforms, ARM Cortex-M/R/A, CUDA, GPU programming, robotics, autonomous systems, or complex embedded products.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CMake, Make, Bazel, reproducible builds, deterministic tooling, diagnostics, and long-term infrastructure maintainability.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Flexible vacation and time-off policy.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced, and inclusive work environment.
