Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and maintain display drivers and compositor frameworks for complex multi-display automotive systems.
- Develop touch-panel, physical-button, and input middleware, including gesture recognition, multi-touch coordination, and noise filtering.
- Optimize frame rates, visual quality, touch latency, and button latency across the complete glass-to-glass pipeline.
- Bring up display panels and input interfaces with hardware vendors and SoC partners using standard buses and SerDes links.
- Debug display and input issues such as freezes, visual artifacts, touch ghosting, missed button presses, and dropped frames.
- Implement dynamic backlight control, power sequencing, resolution switching, fault monitoring, and multi-display synchronization.
- Collaborate with hardware, UI/UX, and systems teams on requirements, software architecture, and automotive safety and EMC compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of embedded software development or platform engineering experience focused on display panels, touch screens, and hardware input technologies.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++.
- Deep understanding of embedded operating systems including Linux, QNX, or Android Automotive OS.
- Solid knowledge of display and input frameworks such as Linux DRM/KMS and Android SurfaceFlinger/InputManager.
- Experience with hardware peripherals and interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, and MIPI DSI.
- Strong problem-solving, system-level debugging, and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: experience bringing up automotive infotainment platforms on Qualcomm Snapdragon or NXP SoCs.
- Preferred: familiarity with OpenGL ES, Vulkan, HWC, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, VirtIO-GPU, QNX, Gunyah, Systrace, Perfetto, and vendor-specific GPU profilers.
