Responsibilities
- Architect and operate large-scale ETL, streaming, and distributed data pipelines for vehicle telemetry and sensor data.
- Build scalable, cost-efficient, high-throughput pipelines for analytical, streaming, and AI workloads.
- Evaluate, introduce, and integrate data technologies to improve scalability, performance, and observability.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and promote software and system design best practices.
- Drive ambiguous technical problems toward clarity and deliver practical, scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient data infrastructure.
Requirements
- M.S. in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience with distributed data architectures and large-scale data systems, particularly using Spark or Databricks.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Kafka Streams, Spark Streaming, and Apache Flink.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, data streaming, streaming and batch processing, and data ingestion from edge devices.
- Experience with geospatial data, vehicle telemetry, or IoT-scale pipelines is a plus.
- Strong communication, independent working, self-direction, and project leadership abilities.
- Fluent spoken and written English and basic German skills.
