Responsibilities

Design and own production architecture for orchestrated data and NLP pipelines, AI/ML integrations, CI/CD, observability, and cloud and on-premises deployment.
Build and validate the first production system hands-on, including infrastructure and security decisions.
Own the engineering roadmap and set architecture direction, engineering standards, and quality and security practices.
Hire and manage a high-performing engineering team as the company scales.
Collaborate closely with the founding team and end users in an on-site environment.

At least 5 years of experience building and operating data-intensive or NLP systems in production, including ingestion, deduplication, entity resolution, asynchronous queue processing, and orchestrated pipelines.
Strong Python production engineering experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and data- and model-drift monitoring.
Experience with PostgreSQL and at least one graph database, vector store, or search engine.
Experience with embeddings, vector search, and language-model integrations, including cost, versioning, and non-determinism management.
Ability to build clean APIs and functional analyst-facing UIs using React, Vue, or similar technologies.
Prior experience leading engineering at an early-stage technology company while remaining hands-on.
Willingness and eligibility to obtain a security clearance in the near future.
Experience with web-scale discourse data acquisition and ingestion, including APIs, researcher access programs, or crawling, is preferred.
Experience packaging systems for customer-hosted deployment with Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm is preferred.
German language proficiency is preferred.

Significant early equity ownership is expected due to the founding-team seniority of the role.
