Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI agents that automate complete business processes, beginning with monthly direct-mail planning and execution.
  • Create reusable agent architecture covering persistent memory, task management, tool access, permissions, and decision records.
  • Define guardrails that separate agent judgment from deterministic rules such as suppressions, compliance checks, and budget limits.
  • Connect agents to predictive models, data pipelines, and channel tools, and operate them alongside current processes until validated.
  • Work with process owners, Core Systems, and Compliance to understand edge cases and implement access and control requirements.
  • Measure agent performance, human intervention rates, failure modes, operating costs, and business value.
  • Own architecture decisions and write most of the implementation code, using AI coding tools where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experience owning a complex system end to end, from design through production operation.
  • Experience making architectural decisions that others build on and explaining trade-offs clearly.
  • Evidence of delivering systems quickly in unfamiliar areas that continued working in production.
  • Experience building agent systems in which LLMs take actions beyond chat or summarization, including diagnosing and fixing failures.
  • Experience building permissions, data-access rules, and audit trails into systems from the beginning.
  • Ability to challenge commercial and product ideas constructively and communicate technical topics clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience using AI coding tools to deliver production engineering work and reviewing their output before release.
  • Preferred experience with Python, Go, Snowflake, or dbt.
  • Preferred experience building evaluations for agent performance and failure analysis.
  • Preferred experience with ad platforms, CRMs, direct mail, or other marketing and growth technology.
  • A numerical or technical background such as physics, engineering, mathematics, or computer science is desirable.

Benefits

  • Six-month secondment with a possible extension or permanent opportunity.
  • Flexible working hours and offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt.
  • Medical insurance through Vitality, discounted gym membership, and private GP access for the employee and eligible dependents.
  • 25 days of annual leave, a birthday day off, the option to buy or sell five additional days, and unlimited unpaid leave.
  • One-month fully paid sabbatical after four years, counselling and therapy access, and generous parental leave.
  • 3% pension contributions on total earnings, employee equity incentive scheme, nursery tax benefits, electric car scheme, and cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Two company retreats per year, a learning and development budget, company-wide talks, and access to learning platforms including Treehouse.
