Sr. Software Engineer (AI Tools)
AlertMediaResponsibilities
- Stay current on AI tooling and techniques and introduce changes that improve engineering productivity.
- Design and build AI agents and skills for development workflows, including test generation, code review assistance, and CI feedback.
- Extend AI tooling through custom agents, skills, prompts, and MCP servers.
- Improve and modularize local development environments.
- Speed up tests and improve CI feedback signal quality.
- Build internal tools that reduce friction in everyday software development.
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape and adopt AI-assisted workflows.
- Drive adoption through collaboration and usefulness rather than mandates.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Daily hands-on experience with agentic coding tools, particularly Codex and Claude.
- Experience extending AI tooling rather than only consuming it, including custom agents, skills, prompts, or MCP servers.
- Experience building systems or tools relied upon by other engineers.
- Experience with Docker, local development environments, and CI systems.
- Familiarity with automated testing and test performance issues.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language, with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript required.
- AWS and Postgres experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and coding experience.
- Strong cross-functional communication and English proficiency, written and oral.
- Legal right to work in Mexico without current or future sponsorship.
