Base Salary
$130k - $144k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop mission-critical embedded software in Rust for NSA-certified cybersecurity and encryption devices.
- Design, code, test, debug, and maintain reliable embedded, systems-level, backend, networking, or performance-sensitive software.
- Build automated unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop test coverage for Rust software.
- Troubleshoot software defects, perform code reviews, and contribute to software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, cybersecurity, test, and program teams to translate requirements into software solutions.
- Create software designs, code, test plans, and execute testing and debugging for complex systems.
- Provide technical direction and leadership while defining scope, schedules, and execution expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field plus 5+ years of job-related experience, or a master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at the time of hire.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information are required.
- Production Rust development experience, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, error handling, and concurrency models.
- Experience with real-time multithreaded embedded software, preferably on Linux.
- Experience with Rust tooling and ecosystems such as Cargo, dependency management, formatting, linting, and CI/CD integration.
- Experience troubleshooting complex defects, conducting code reviews, and developing automated tests.
- Experience with C, C++, or Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with hypervisor technology, Linux, UML, and device drivers is desirable.
- Experience working across technical disciplines and translating concepts, specifications, or requirements into software solutions is preferred.
