Responsibilities
- Analyze and write code to remove performance bottlenecks throughout the software.
- Develop software in Node.js and Golang for production services.
- Write decision records and RFCs to communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with service owners, architects, and project managers to drive performance improvements.
- Partner with performance engineers to optimize application architecture and telemetry.
- Promote a 'shift left' culture for performance management within the engineering team.
- Work with all parts of the Customer Identity Cloud service offering.
Requirements
- Experience in senior software engineering roles in a remote work environment.
- Strong self-motivation and aptitude for investigation and experimentation.
- Experience developing application software in Node.js and familiarity with Golang.
- Experience with API-driven cloud-native distributed system architecture in Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
- Familiarity with APM tools such as Datadog APM, Splunk, or New Relic.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Experience designing and executing performance experiments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for driving performance improvement without sacrificing reliability or security.
- Strong collaboration skills and a track record of cross-functional teamwork.
