Responsibilities

Investigate generative AI, machine learning, and applied research advancements and assess their practical customer value.
Design, implement, and benchmark RAG pipelines, copilots, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, and fine-tuned models.
Translate research papers, ideas, and experiments into robust prototypes and production-ready components.
Build reproducible pipelines for model evaluation, prompt optimization, dataset curation, and system comparison.
Collaborate with AI engineers, full-stack developers, project managers, and customers to define technical approaches and integrate research outcomes.
Improve AI system quality, reliability, latency, and cost efficiency through systematic experimentation.
Develop and maintain containerized AI backends and research tooling using Python, Docker, and FastAPI.
Document experiments, findings, trade-offs, and implementation decisions, and contribute to applied AI research practices.
Provide technical mentorship, internal demonstrations, and research reviews.

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or a related quantitative field.
Strong hands-on experience in applied AI, machine learning, NLP, or generative AI across experimentation and implementation.
Excellent Python skills and experience with modern ML and LLM frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangGraph, or LangChain.
Understanding of transformer models, embeddings, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and evaluation methodologies.
Experience designing experiments and interpreting results rigorously and pragmatically.
Ability to turn research concepts into working prototypes and production-oriented solutions.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and version-controlled development workflows.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and AI services such as Azure.
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Fluency in English and Dutch; French is a plus.
Publications, open-source contributions, LLM evaluation or observability experience, multimodal or synthetic data experience, enterprise AI deployment, and consulting or customer-facing delivery experience are beneficial.
