Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture across claims processing, billing workflows, and RCM domains.
- Direct the modernization and scaling of the Electronic Dental Record platform, including its migration from .NET and Azure to Java and AWS.
- Define team-wide guardrails, standards, and responsible-use practices for AI coding assistants, agentic tools, and LLM-assisted software development.
- Champion specification-first requirements, acceptance criteria, design reviews, code review standards, testing strategy, and delivery improvements.
- Lead cross-team technical alignment and resolve architectural trade-offs, dependencies, and system-wide design decisions.
- Prototype and productionize safe, scalable AI-assisted developer productivity and client-facing capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership on AWS, Kubernetes, RDS, and AI-assisted infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Lead system-level testing strategy, integration coverage, performance validation, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and raise the organization’s technical standards and architectural capabilities.
- Represent engineering in cross-functional planning, capacity discussions, and roadmap prioritization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 12 years of engineering experience in a Product Engineering organization with progression into technical leadership.
- Deep backend expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including designing and shipping production-grade distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience making and defending system-level architectural decisions.
- Production experience with AI coding assistants or agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Experience leading full-stack development teams through technical mentoring and design oversight.
- Experience defining engineering standards, code review practices, and testing strategy across multiple teams.
- Strong record of mentoring senior engineers into more independent, higher-impact contributors.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS services, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Spring Boot.
- React experience is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare domain familiarity, including RCM, claims processing, or billing, is a strong plus.
- Experience working in and improving Agile delivery environments is preferred.
