Base Salary
$200k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and refine agent behaviors for coding and data-engineering workflows and take agents from prototype to reliable production systems.
- Own Cortex Code quality end to end by building evaluation harnesses, diagnosing agent-trajectory failure modes, and running metric-improving experiments.
- Reduce cost and latency through prompt caching, context compaction, tool-result offloading, and cheaper model routing for subtasks.
- Debug production failures and connect customer issues to fixes and regression tests.
- Build data pipelines that feed real-world task insights into evaluations and modeling.
- Onboard and evaluate frontier models, measuring strengths and failure modes and determining their product fit.
- Partner with product and infrastructure teams to shape agent behavior and define successful complex-task metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience shipping production software, including AI/LLM features.
- Fluency in at least one of Python, TypeScript, or Go, with willingness to work across all three.
- Ability to design reliable evaluations using sampling, ground-truth quality, leakage, and noise considerations.
- Comfort debugging complex and unpredictable real-world failures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and leadership.
- Preferred experience with agentic coding tools, model strengths and failure modes, and prompting limits.
- Preferred experience with evaluation harnesses, LLM observability, or production safety and guardrails.
- Background in data engineering, data modeling, analytics, retrieval/RAG, or semantic layers is highly relevant.
- Experience with large-scale datasets or production system logs is preferred.
