Responsibilities
- Design and improve ETA and delivery-time prediction models for Deliveroo’s consumer-facing experience.
- Build models that inform the dispatcher’s automatic allocation of riders to orders.
- Improve prediction quality and reliability across markets, order types, and delivery conditions.
- Productionize end-to-end machine learning solutions and ship code that delivers measurable marketplace impact.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to improve the use of delivery-time predictions across the platform.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist.
- Proven ability to write high-quality production code in Python.
- Experience applying machine learning and algorithmic solutions to complex business problems in production.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and appropriate modeling techniques.
- Experience building predictive models, particularly for forecasting, time estimation, or real-time decision-making.
- Experience taking models through production with a solid grounding in software engineering principles.
- Strong programming and statistical skills and the ability to translate ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions.
