Responsibilities
- Design, code, and configure solutions for moderate-complexity Agile stories with limited guidance.
- Debug software issues independently, identify root causes, and implement safe fixes.
- Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern test automation frameworks.
- Design and implement Terraform infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline changes for Azure deployments.
- Create conceptual designs and architectures for small-scale software solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior software engineers, including responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Participate in code reviews and demonstrate technical solutions to other engineers.
- Make source code management decisions and perform complex source code management tasks independently.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience; 4 years preferred.
- At least 4 years of product experience; 6 years preferred.
- At least 4 years of domain experience; 6 years preferred.
- Expertise in object-oriented design, Java or .NET, relational OLTP queries, and relational database design.
- Expertise in XML/XSLT, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Strong knowledge of Azure or other cloud infrastructure, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Expertise with Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Pester.
- Expertise in at least one Duck Creek product area, such as Policy, Billing, Claims, Engagement, or Data Insights.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, with the judgment to validate or override generated output.
- Knowledge of software product development lifecycle estimation, analysis, and execution using Agile methodology.
- Insurance-domain knowledge and the ability to communicate, manage deadlines, and work independently.
