Responsibilities
- Determine user requirements and customer scenarios with stakeholders.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-powered applications and services.
- Build multi-turn conversational experiences involving intent understanding, knowledge retrieval, response generation, workflow orchestration, intelligent routing, and service integrations.
- Develop automated evaluation, regression, and quality frameworks for non-deterministic AI systems.
- Write, debug, optimize, and refactor code for performance, reliability, maintainability, security, and customer experience.
- Contribute to technical designs, project and release plans, validation, staged rollouts, code reviews, documentation, runbooks, and engineering standards.
- Participate in monitoring, live-site support, incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and service recovery.
- Use telemetry, customer signals, experimentation, evaluation results, and operational data to identify quality gaps.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, customer experience, support, and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Apply responsible AI, privacy, security, accessibility, compliance, and service-readiness requirements throughout development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, or operating software applications or services.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, debugging, testing, source control, and software design.
- Experience collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver software features.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree with 4+ years of technical engineering experience, a master's degree with 2+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes cloud services, distributed systems, web applications, high-scale production services, conversational AI, generative AI, machine learning, search, retrieval, knowledge systems, intelligent agents, model evaluation, automated testing, monitoring, observability, incident response, and on-call operations.
- Ability to independently own significant features, with customer focus and sound technical judgment.
- Commitment to responsible AI, security, privacy, accessibility, quality, and inclusive product development.
